Philadelphia is known for being a historic city, and the architecture reminds you of that. Philadelphia's City Hall, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Independence Hall are just a few places that remind people of the history of the town.

New York Derby: Part 3
The Red Bulls took the win on May 21. NYCFC took the win on July 3. This was the final meeting between the rivals in the regular season. Two games later and they meet in a soccer stadium for the first time this season.
NYCFC stood first in the Eastern Conference, New York Red Bulls second. NYCFC had come off a win and the Red Bulls a tough draw. The winner of this game claimed New York.
Three first half goals put RBNY at a great advantage against their rivals and Bradley Wright-Phillips finished off the match 70th minute.
After two seasons, New York is still red.
Look up, Philadelphia
During my trip to Philadelphia last month, I noticed the beautiful roofs in the Franklin Institute and the Penn Museum. The style of the roofs were similar, a window in the middle to bring light into the room. The beautiful styles of the roof made it difficult to not take pictures, so here they are!
EURO 2016 Champions -- Portugal
Yesterday was the finale of the European Championships of 2016. Hosts France took on underdogs Portugal, who had lost in this final 12 years ago when they were hosts against Greece.
Many people labeled France as the favorites to win; with their strong squad and the home advantage, it seemed really possible that France would lift the trophy once again. Like many of Portugal's games after the group stage, the final went to extra time after no one had scoed. Portugal was put into a difficult situation when their best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, came off after 25 minutes with a knee injury. Despite Ronaldo's injury, Eder scored the game winning goal in the 109th minute. Hosts France were left shocked as Eder lead Portugal to their first major trophy.
Congrats to Portugal!
Copa America Centenario Champions -- Chile
Today was the final of the Copa America Centenario! After 32 matches later and we have a champion!
After 120 minutes of end to end action and rash refereeing, the match went to penalty kicks. Chilean legend Arturo Vidal and Argentina great Lionel Messi missed both of their penalties to begin the shoot out. Chile and Argentina continued to score their penalties until Argentina's Biglia's shot was saved by Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. Gato Silva slotted away his penalty, winning the tournament for Chile for the second year in a row!
Congrats to Chile!
Legends Project | Landon Donovan
6 years ago today, the USMNT were playing Algeria in the last group stage match at the 2010 FIFA Men's World Cup. The US had previously tied their 2 matches and needed to win in order to make it into the Round of 16. The game was nearing it's end and the Americans' World Cup campaign was going to come to a close. After the Algerian goalkeeper blocked a previous shot, Landon Donovan was in the right place at the right time as he slotted the ball into the back of the net. The US had scored and won the game 1-0, finishing top of Group C.
In honor of the goal that saved the US, my latest edits feature the goalscorer himself, Landon Donovan. The third picture in this project is the celebration after Donovan scored but before every US player jumped on top of him.
The other players featured in the Legends Project can be seen here.
Players Project | Dimitri Payet -- EURO 2016 Edition
Last year on my blog, theotherkroosbrother, I started a project that showcases current soccer players called the Players Project. The Legends Project is another one of my projects where former soccer players are honored.
With much excitement surrounding EURO 2016, I am continuing the Players Project by showcasing the best players at the European Championships. The first player in this collection is Dimitri Payet of France. After a brilliant first season at West Ham United, Payet has continued to shine as one of France's best players at EURO 2016. In his first 2 European Championship games ever, he scored 2 late goals, 1 winning the game for France.
Previous edits from this project can be seen here.
EURO 2016
The summer of soccer has only just begun, which means it is time for the UEFA European Championships. This year, the competition features 24 of the best European teams, an increase from the 16 team competition in previous years.
In preparation for the Euros, I made edits for each team that features each team's nickname in their respective languages. Each row represents the 6 groups, with the hosts France being the first edit in Group A.
Copa America Centenario
Today marks the first day of the Copa America Centenario, where the best North American national teams are invited to play against every South American national team.
To celebrate the 100th year of the CONMEBOL tournament, I drew the trophy used in promotions and listed each country participating. The countries are listed in alphabetical order, with the exception of Chile, who are the reigning champions of the tournament. The countries are written in colors which best represent the national team, whether it be prominent colors in the flag, team logo, or team kit.
A closer look at the drawing can be found below.
2016 UEFA Champions League Final
Milan hosted the 2016 UEFA Champions League final, where local rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid faced off. After an astounding 120 minutes (including extra time), Real Madrid scored all 5 penalties while Atletico Madrid failed to score their 4th one.
To celebrate the occasion, I designed edits for the final and Real Madrid's victory!
